The name everyone recognises and incorporates with motorcycle is KTM but when did KTM first start? KTM built it’s first sports motorcycle ‘The Trophy125cc’ in 1957 and over 60 years later is still producing some of the worlds most accessible motorcycles, So let’s dive in and take a look at the very popular KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. 

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure R first released in 2017 under the ‘R’ model is meant to defend KTM’s domain in the ADV world against would-be competitors. The ‘R’ packs a 2500rpm  on 80ftlb of torque heading for the back wheel, The engine and chassis are all tied together with the Bosch MSC package in its top specification with integrated, lean angle sensitive C-ABS, motorcycle traction control (MTC) and comes with five distinctive riding modes (Sport, Street, Rain and Off-road).

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure R supplies its users with all the information they would ever need on a state-of the art 6.5’ TFT Display. All of the obvious, Speed, Revs, Fuel are all shown but you can add up to 8 adjustable features including outside oil temperature, onboard voltage, average speed, average and current fuel consumption and range and distance to your next service.
