The modern-retro masters at Analogue are back with a tribute to handheld gaming - and it may very well be their best yet. Analogue was founded in April 2011 by Christopher Taber with an acclaimed focus on video game preservation and they have done just that with the Analogue Pocket.
A multi-video handheld game system. Out of the box, the Analogue pocket is compatible with 2,780 plus Gameboy, Game boy colour and game boy advance game cartridge library. The Analogue Pocket is designed around a first in class 3.5 inch, 615ppi, LCD screen. This means the Analogue pocket has 10x the resolution of an original Gameboy.
The Analogue Pocket is not an emulator, instead of simulating old game systems through software, the pocket uses customizable chips called field programable gate arrays to replicate the transistors inside the original systems, by not emulating these games it means that the original games play exactly as they did on the original hardware, right down to the slowdowns that occur when too much is happening on the screen.
Let's take a look at some of the technical specifications of the Analogue Pocket.

The Analogue Pocket has a Gorilla glass screen and comes with a Pocket Hard case but I would be adding a Nano Glass screen protector as well.
The Analogue Pocket comes in at 220 USD which is more expensive than the Nintendo Switch Lite but it’s worth the investment to play all those classic addictive Gameboy games like Grand Theft Auto, Tetris and on a superior operating system.
